Central Kansas Gas Gathering Company, LLC (CKGG) is a wholly owned subsidiary of Saxon Oil Company. Saxon has contributed CKKG’s assets to a 50-50 joint venture between Saxon and American Energies Pipeline, LLC, called Mid Kansas Gas Gathering. Mid Kansas Gas Gathering’s primary purpose is to provide natural gas producers located in the central Kansas with gathering, processing, treating, and other wellhead natural gas services. CKGG’s natural gas gathering systems, which are now part of the Mid Kansas Gas Gathering joint venture, are located in the Central Kansas Uplift natural gas producing region. CKGG’ gathering systems consist of approximately 230 miles of pipeline, compression capabilities, and are connected to dozens of wellhead delivery points.
In June 2007, CKGG acquired its first gathering system, approximately 100 miles of pipe that stretch east and west between Conway and Great Bend, Kan., across McPherson, Rice and Barton counties, with secondary, perpendicular lines connecting to it. Then in June 2008, CKGG acquired an additional 125 miles of gas gathering systems in central Kansas, bringing the total network of CKGG’s gathering systems to over 230 miles. The newly acquired gas gathering systems are located in Harvey, Kingman, McPherson, Pawnee, and Reno counties. The largest system is approximately 48 miles of pipe and includes compression facilities. The systems are located just to the east and west of Saxon’s main 100-mile gathering system.
